Coming Up for RWs2010...


Saturday September 11, 2010...Farmers Market $9.11 for 9/11 Campaign
We're at the Pleasanton Farmers Market 9 am-1pm with our Road Warriors 2010 recruiting table and $9.11 on 9/11 fundraising campaign...The Farmers Market has generously offered to sponsor my 1,000 miles of run-walk-hike-bike and will match $750.00 of shoppers' donations to Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund. We'll also be asking shoppers to sign the back of our newly designed Road Warriors 2010 tee shirt to show their support for our wounded veterans.

Sunday September 12, 2010...Walnut Festival 5K 10K; 8:30-10:30 am
Traveling to Walnut Creek! Look for us at the Walnut Festival 10K finish line in front of Nordstrom and PF Chang....Walnut Festival director Bob Lloyd has invited us to spread the word and sign up some great new recruits after the race. Thanks Bob!

Saturday and Sunday Sept 24 and 25th...Alden Lane Nursery Quilt Show
Our quilt of valor has been accepted by the reknowned "Quilting in the Garden" Show at Alden Lane Nursery in Livermore. Over 200 quilts will be displayed under the oaks--a truly beautiful and inspiring sight. The show runs Sat and Sun from 9-4 pm.

Saturday October 9th Pleasanton Farmers' Market: Donate the Date Campaign
We will be continuing our drive to match the markets generous donation of $750.00 to Wounded Warrior Project. Shoppers are invited to "Donate the Date" or $10.09 on 10/09/10 and to write a card of thanks and support to the recipent of our Quilt of Valor.

Sat October 16 & Sun Oct 17th: Alden Lane Nursery Harvest Festival
Alden Lane Nursery in Livermore has invited us back for their fun Harvest Festival which will give us a chance to ask the public to sign cards of encouragement and support for the recipient of our Quilt of Valor. Look for our quilt and table under the oaks from 12:00-3:00 pm.

Saturday Nov 6: Road Warriors 2010 Wrap Up Run-Walk-Hike-Bike, 9:30 am
Everyone is invited to Sycamore Grove Park in Livermore for a fun, final get together and chance to log those last miles before Veterans Day on 11/11/10. Meet at the parking lot staging area at between 9:30 and 10:00 am and we'll take off for your choice of run, walk, bike or hike through the hills and autumn color. We'll have some tasty goodies at the end! NOTE: Sycamore Grove Park has a $5.00 fee to park in their lot; an alternative is to park in the large, free lot at Independence Park on Holmes Ave and walk the short distance to Sycamore Grove Park. Sunday Nov 7: Pleasanton Veterans Day Parade and Program
Downtown Pleasanton at the beautiful Veterans Memorial Building....We'll be presenting our Quilt of Valor to a local wounded warrior and joining in the event to honor all veterans who have served in our Armed Forces. Times to be announced.
