Our Troops say "Thank You!"

To Pat and Pleasanton Military Family
(emphasis on FAMILY)

You guys are amazing, as usual. We received all the care packages and distributed them to our soldiers here; additionally, we gave some to the first generation of Afghan female commandos, some of whom are mothers and took the goods to their families! They were extremely thankful and happy, pictures to follow!

We also used the Christmas trees to spread a bit of Christmas cheer around the various outstations... everyone loved it.

Every year for over a decade, you guys have consistently put smiles on soldiers faces... we can't thank you all enough. You guys are family to me and all the soldiers you touch, and I will always appreciate all you guys have done!

Attached is a thank you pic from some of the members of this organization, we really appreciate you this Christmas season!

All my love and gratitude!
(name with held)

Is "Life of Pi" a True Story?

Last night we watched the movie "Life of Pi". I had avoided it because I thought it was about math...funny.

For us, the movie was mesmerizing, and while watching the young Pi lost on the ocean in a small boat with a Bengal tiger, being pelted with flying fish and learning to master his fears, I was wishing I had seen it when it first came out because it is full of wisdom. I bought the book...looking forward to a slow read.

I found these quotes from and about the author Yann Martel on Wikipedia:

Life of Pi, according to Yann Martel, can be summarized in three statements:

"Life is a story ... You can choose your story ... A story with God is the better story."

Pi at the end of the book asks "If you stumble at mere believability, what are you living for?" According to Gordon Houser there are two main themes of the book: "that all life is interdependent, and that we live and breathe via belief."

A story with God is the better story.

That seems like a Christmas story.

Veterans Day Gift: Gary Sinese is helping Kenton Stacy get a new home

Have you heard of EODC Kenton Stacy? He is a Navy Man. He was in Afghanistan serving our nation when he walked into an IED. The son of one of our PMF mothers was with Kenton Stacy that day, and being the close friends they were, he was allowed to go and stay with Kenton in the hospital in the early days when he was in the most serious condition. The attack happened Nov 9, 2017. Today, Gary Sinese is helping to build him a home for his 4 children (one with special needs) and his wife. You can donate to Kenton on The Sinese Foundation website and learn more at Stacy Strong on Facebook.

Hurrah for the Pleasanton Veterans Day Parade!

Everyone from Pleasanton Military Families had fun marching in our annual Veterans Day Parade (which is always held on the first Sunday of November). It was a cloudless 80 degree day without a whisper of a breeze...perfect for a parade! The city turned out to wave flags and cheer on our incredible veterans. It was a day of smiles in Pleasanton CA! Thank you to our Marines, Airmen, Sailors and Soldiers who have served to protect Americans everywhere.Watch the great video of our small town celebration or just scroll through the snapshots

These words of President Trump bear repeating...

If you want freedom, take pride in your country. If you want democracy, hold on to your sovereignty. And if you want peace, love your nation. Wise leaders always put the good of their own people and their own country first. The future does not belong to globalists. The future belongs to patriots. The future belongs to sovereign and independent nations who protect their citizens, respect their neighbors, and honor the differences that make each country special and unique.

Something I remembered just now

  1. Do you know this song? I love this song. I feel we all need to know this today.

  2. Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.
    • Refrain:
This is my story, this is my song,
      Praising my Savior all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
  3. Perfect submission, perfect delight,
    Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
    Angels, descending, bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.
  4. Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest,
    Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.
